If you have not heard already Mozy has opened up Mozy Stash, their file synchronization software, for a public beta! If you are already a Mozy user with one of the new accounts (unlimited accounts do not qualify) you can download and install the Mozy Stash software on up to 5 computers and sync files between them.
I have been trying out the new software and it works well. I have been using it to sync files between my Windows laptop and Windows desktop and have had no problems yet. I have used Dropbox in the past but out grew the amount of free space that I could get from them and did not want to pay for a larger account. Mozy Stash shares space from your 50GB or 125GB account (or larger if you purchase more space) so the cost of getting a larger Stash storage is cheap compared to Dropbox or other services.
The best part of Mozy Stash so far is how it works on my Android device. The Mozy app gives you access to the files in your backup and your Stash folder, but the Mozy app can automatically copy photos and videos that you create on your mobile or tablet into your Mozy Stash! This is great because it essentially backs up the most common files that you create on your mobile! Once it is uploaded from your mobile to Mozy Stash it is synced to all the other computers that run Stash. No need to worry any more about losing your mobile photos and videos!
Currently there is no extra cost to using Mozy Stash for current Mozy users so you should give it a try if you have an account. If you don’t have a Mozy account you can try Mozy Stash with the free 2GB account so check it out.
